Staff veterinarian will be needed beginning January 2008. Our
associate, Dr. Calder, will be leaving us for a teaching position at
Auburn University. We desire an enthusiastic, thoughtful, friendly
individual who is an accomplished listener and communicator. This
individual needs to possess a desire to continually grow their
knowledge base and skills so that our practice will become even
better at what we do-improve and extend the lives of our client's
pets. We encourage continuing education and pursuing special
interests by providing a healthy CE allowance and by allowing our
associate to help direct our equipment purchases. We also provide
education for our support staff by helping them teach one another, by
providing inhouse CE for the staff by the doctors, and by sending
them to CE meetings.
Our practice is well equipped -- the most recent
additions being a digital dental xray unit and a high speed dental
unit. Our work schedule is family and dog friendly to enable our
staff to be attentive parents, spouses, and pet owners. We are part
of a 4 practice emergency rotation and our practice is on call one
weeknight per week and one weekend out of every four.
We offer
competitive salary and benefits and are willing to negotiate. The
possibility for partnership or ownership will be considered after two
years.
The midcoast of Maine is a beautiful place to live. We are
right next to the ocean and the kayaking, sailing, and fishing are
fantastic. Winter sports abound and this part of Maine attracts
artists, writers, and musicians. (If you need to be close to a
shopping mall this is not the location for you.) If you are wondering
about the quality of your present life this may be the perfect
position for you.
Send resume and introduction letter to Dr. Laurie
Howarth, 14 Atlantic Hwy Waldoboro, ME 04572 or fax 207 563-2235.
