  Dr. Laurie S. Howarth is a 1976 graduate of Iowa State University, College of Veterinary medicine. She is the founder and owner of Medomak Veterinary Services. She moved to Maine and started the practice after working for 12 years at other veterinary hospitals. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine with a special interest in behavior problems and feline medicine and surgery. She is a mother to Wyatt, wife to Bill. Her family shares their home with a wild whippet named Zuni, a rescue Italian greyhound named Birdie and three bird dogs: Zelda, Jeb, and Gale.
  Dr. Abby Strobbe joined our staff as an associate veterinarian in March, 2008. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. In 2004, Dr. Strobbe completed her internship at Purdue University in small animal medicine and surgery. Since her internship, Dr. Strobbe has been working at a variety of small animal hospitls performing general practioner and emergency medicine duties. Dr. Strobbe and her husband Marc moved their farm to Bremen, Maine at the end of 2006. They live at the "Old Martin Farm" with their dogs--Chance, Mahti'n, and Chimbo. They also have a cat named Ray who 'rules the roost'. Dr. Srobbee's areas of interest include medicine, accupuncture, and ultrasound.
  Amy Witte joined the staff in 2002 as a receptionist. She graduated from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1987 with a degree in Computer Graphics. She moved from Ohio to New Harbor with her children Niki and Andrew. Her fuzzy children include Trucker (a Golden Retriever), Tang (an orange tabby cat), and one chinchilla. Amy loves chocolate, snow, and paddling a kayak.
  Erin Bailey joined the staff in 2002 as a veterinary assistant. She graduated from Unity College with a B.S. in Environmental Science with a major in Wildlife. Erin lives on Westport Island with her Labrador Retrievers: Moose (chocolate) and Bear (black). They are brothers. Erin enjoys bowling and is on a family bowling team named "Are We Done Yet?" Erin also enjoys playing games, going to movies, and creating various crafts.
  Marcy Hatch joined the staff in 1998 as office manager. She graduated from Bridgewater State College in Massachusettes in 1989 with a B.A. in History. She has a son, Sean Ari, and lives in Newcastle with 7 cats (Jasper, Sylvia, Eve, Una Mae, Mel, Baby Boy, and Narsa) and Jonah, the lone canine. In her free time, Marcy enjoys writing fantasy, reading, and hiking with Jonah.
  Erin Novak joined the staff in 2003 as an assistant. She is currently studying to be a veterinary technician and recently completed her first semester. She lives in Waldoboro with her son Kaleb, her dogs; Dusty and Odis; cats Smokey, Boo, and Gary; and two Guinea Pigs; Excavator and Racer. She likes movies, fishing, and hiking.
  Leah Plummer joined our staff in 2005. She grew up in South Bristol. She has always loved animals and began her own business pet sitting at the age of 12. Since becoming a member of our staff she is getting first hand experience as a veterinary assistant, she enjoys spending time with her cats, Lily, Cally, and Bella, and her Siberian husky, Sassy. Her hobbies include photography, drawing, movies, and outdoor activities like hiking, whitewater rafting, and skydiving.
  Nikki Coccoluto, C.V.T. joined the staff in March of 2007 and has been a certified veterinary technician since 2000. She received her technician training at Hollyoke Community College. She has worked in veterinary hostpitals in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Massachusetts. She loves all animals, big and small, and enjoys agility, obedience and herding with her border collie, Flea. She enjoys trail riding with her horses, Jim and Rowdy. Also sharing the household are Edgar, Pixie, and Blackie (the cats), Peter the rabbit (of course), a hamster, a guinea pig, and a red eared slider turtle. Nikki's hobbies include reading, walking, and spending time doing anything outdoors. Because of her special interest in animal behavior, she is now teaching obedience classes here at the veterinary clinic.
  Katie Grant joined the staff at MVS in Spring 2005 as a part time assistant. Katie lives in Waldoboro with her husband Pete, her Golden Retriever, Shilo, and her tuxedo cat, Poker. She has two grown children, Ryan and Sarah. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, following college hockey, and visiting her folks in Arizona every chance she gets.
  Robin Cohen became a member of our staff in January 2006 helping us keep the hospital looking spic and span. Robin's schooling and life accomplishments have centered around the equine world. She has been involved in many aspects of the equine industry including breeding, showing, training horses, and providing instruction to the children and adults that are crazy about horses. The loves of her life are her retired Arabian show gelding, Spike, her carriage pony Rhett Butler, her big goofy Remy dog, her little lovely JD dog, and Loki the cat.
  Bill Chapman has been around for many years (he is married to Dr. Howarth) and fixes what needs to be fixed. You will see him sometimes accompanying Dr. Howarth on her emergency calls to lend a helping hand. The rest of his working hours are spent at Camp Kieve. In his spare time he works guiding bird hunters, duck hunters, and sport fisherman. He usually has one of his three dogs (Jeb, Zelda, and Gale) by his side.
